The "P" Family *sneak peek*

One of the sad aspects of wedding photography is that sometimes you photograph a couple's wedding and then they move on and the photographer is left wondering what became of them. Not so with the P family!  I had the great pleasure of meeting up with them again at a wedding this past May and learned that they're not only incredibly happy, but that they also have a son. He's absolutely cherubic! It was an honor when Michelle asked me to take her family's portraits this summer.
We met up last Friday in the heat of the evening, at a local park, a wide open space for their 2-year old to run and play. If you've ever parented a 2-year old little boy, then you can appreciate the energy and curiosity that kept us all chasing this adorable boy. I remember those days all too well, and the fact that I never had formal portraits of my son when he was 2 because he wouldn't sit still for anything! And if you've ever parented a 2-year old little boy, you know just how endearing a little boy's energy can be; I wouldn't trade the days of chasing my toddler son for anything. Thanks Tony & Michelle! Hope you cherish the memories of chasing around your darling little boy because they grow up way too fast!

Michelle found this wagon at a thrift store! This is an AWESOME find!
I think I may start shopping for photo props at thrift stores.

Complete love and adoration...

Look at that darling face and those blond curls! A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!

The "L" Family *sneak peek*

What fun summer for photography! This is my third destination session in the past three months and the winds of adventure blew me in the direction of Provo, Utah this time to photograph my cousin and her family. We woke to pouring rain on family picture day, no thanks to a mischievous Mother Nature. So we dodged rain drops and rain puddles as we explored the BYU campus in search of great locations. Weather disappointment aside, I think we captured some real gems!

Eternally bound. My cousin married a cop...

We drove up to Sundance, which was extraordinarily gorgeous....and DRENCHED. It never stopped pouring the entire time we were there, crowded under an awning, waiting for a break in the weather, so we scrapped that idea and salved the situation with a visit to The Sweet Tooth Fairy (she won Cupcake Wars!!!) for some sugary goodness.

I can't decide: color or black and white?

Matt & Debra *encore*

When I post a sneak peek from a session or from a wedding, I usually go through the images very quickly and choose a few, almost at random, to share. As I edit the session, there are always more pictures that I simply can't wait to show off to my clients. Over the past few weeks as I've been proofing Matt and Debra's wedding images, I've come across several amazing images that I can't wait to share with the couple. So this is an encore the Matt and Debra's sneak peek wedding post from a couple weeks ago. Just a few more favorites...

The "W" Family

I love shooting in a new city and I also hate shooting in a new city, due in large part to all the cool locations that I see along the way that I might never get to use. Like Kennewick, WA, where I recently (which is a nice way of saying sometime last month and am just now getting around to posing) took pictures of my husband's sister and her family. My sister-in-law chose a really gorgeous location right along the Columbia River that has views of not one, but two suspension bridges (if they're not suspension bridges, my husband will give me a thorough schooling on bridges. Oi.) Not only that, this location has a lighthouse. How cool is that?? So, without any further babbling, here are a few of my favorites...

I also took their family portrait next to their pool...

Wedding: Matt & Debra 6.30.12

In all my years of photographing weddings, I don't think I've ever photographed a bride more giddy about her wedding than Debra. Her enthusiasm was infectious; she couldn't wait to marry Matt!  They both looked incredibly gorgeous (it's okay to call a guy 'gorgeous' right?) as they tied the knot last weekend, under the summer sunshine and in the company of their closest friends and family. Their wedding was absolutely beautiful from the people to the cake to the flowers (which were amazing and smelled delicious)! The couple topped off their perfect day with toasts, dancing and sparklers!
Congratulations Matt & Debra!
