Newborns: Meet Baby H

There is no place like home.
Narrowing down my favorite images from my latest newborn session was next to impossible!
In lieu of my typical studio session, new mom Carisa, and I decided to try something different: a relaxed, lifestyle session. In other words, I photographed Baby H and family in their everyday environment, at home.

Meet adorable baby H...

There is no question that baby H is already smitten with his momma.

Motherhood is stunningly beautiful.

Preciousness!!!

A poignant moment with daddy.

Baby H just might have his momma's smile. What do you think?

Big bro introduces "Buzz" to little bro...

This is an awesome family shot!!
I love that little face peeking out from behind mom, dad and baby.

Maternity: Brown Family *Sneak Peek*

The Brown family is expecting baby boy number two next month and I couldn't be happier for them! Little "W" is going to be such an awesome big brother!! We met at Celebration Park last Saturday for desert-themed maternity pictures and were met with a delightful mix of winter sunshine and fog. It was a really great afternoon and this gorgeous momma-to-be is one of my favorite people to photograph!

Closing Up Shop

Dear Clients and Friends-

After prayerful thought and much consideration, I have decided to close my business. My experience as a photographer has been one that has enriched myself, my family and fed my creativity in ways I never thought possible. It has been an immense pleasure photographing you, your newborns, your children, you families and your wedding days and I have met so many incredible people along the way. As it is, my very young children need me right now and, after struggling for years to become a mother, there is nothing that gives me more joy than spending as much time as possible with son and daughter. Perhaps when they're older and more independent I can once again pursue my passion for photography.  Thank you so much for entrusting me and my cameras with your precious memories. It has been such a blessing to know all of you.

Best wishes for your continued happiness,

Charlotte

Portraits: The "D" Family Sneak Peek

Last Saturday's session is proof that you don't need a popular location or fancy park for sensational family portraits. The "D" family chose a local neighborhood park, complete with playground. Even in December, the landscaping looked amazing! As an added bonus, it started snowing! Thanks "D" family for braving the elements and chilly, winter weather for these gorgeous portraits.

It was seriously FREEZING outside, however the cold weather literally brought this family together, really close together. The "snuggle" effect wasn't faked or posed as the family hugged in tight to keep warm. The photographic result: awesome!

The See Family *sneak peek*

About a month ago, we travelled to Silver City, a ghost town, with my brother-in-law and his family, for some unique family portraits. As a photographer, I am always on the lookout for incredible spaces and this trumps every location I've ever shot at (with the exception of the beach). Silver City has a plethora of weathered buildings and ruins where building once stood. There is no shortage of cool doors, rocks, antiquated shop fronts and hundreds of other nooks and crannies that make Silver City a photographer's paradise. As an added bonus, Silver City already had snow!
Enjoy your pics M & B!

The "R" Kids: a Sneak Peek

I met up with the "R" family on a blustery, November afternoon at Celebration Park, just south of Melba. In spite of the wind chill, I must say, I had a ton of fun photographing the R kids. They are so full of personality and energy and imagination; the images reflect how completely fantastic these kids are, not to mention completely adorable! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Senior 2013: Mikyla's *sneak peek*

I've known Mikyla since she was young; a cute little girl who has grown into a gorgeous young woman. She and I literally dodged an inconvenient autumn rain storm to capture Mikyla's senior pictures last Saturday. Fortunately, we caught a few breaks in the storm to venture out and about and soak up all the autumn colors, and a few puddles along the way.
Mikyla has big plans for her future and I look forward to watching her conquer the world!

Mikyla has the most beautiful blue eyes! They're almost turquoise.
