The Junior Album

Once upon a time I wanted to be a scrapbooker.
Years of amassing materials left me with a closet full of supplies, but no scrapbook.
Turns out, I wasn't very good at scrapbooking after all.

That's when I found myself in a dilemma.
I could invest in the department store photo albums and stuff them full of 4x6 prints, just like everyone else I knew.
Or I could scrapbook.

When I started researching albums for my bridal clients, it occurred to me that the 10x10 albums might also appeal to the families I photograph. As a mom, the idea of preserving my child's portraits in a creative way sure beats the plastic, department store photo albums and saves me hours of time in my wasted efforts at scrapbooking.

Using fun colors, patterns and text, the 10x10 Junior Album features pages designed specifically with children in mind. The heavyweight, semi-gloss pages are hinged down the center so that the album lays flat when opened. The albums feature either a leather cover or a custom-designed photo cover. Additional sizes are available.

The following are a few ideas for full-page spreads in a 10x10 Junior Album.

The Graduate Album

Senior pictures have, thankfully, evolved enormously in the last ten years.
A couple decades ago they were simply the draped yearbook picture.
Then it was the draped yearbook picture and wallet-sized images for your friends.
Mom and dad would purchase a picture for the wall and a picture for the grandparents.

Today the senior portrait industry is HUGE and the importance of getting a graduating high school student's pictures taken is a right of passage!! The art and technique behind senior portraits is exciting and fresh and ever changing.

However, this innovation in the art of senior portraiture also creates a problem.
The problem of too many beautiful pictures and not enough wall space!

There are several ways to remedy this issue and one of them is the 10x10 Graduate Album!

The 10x10 Graduate album is the perfect way to preserve those gorgeous senior portraits; presented as a whole collection and custom designed to further accentuate the pictures.

The 10x10 Graduate Album features thick 110# semi-gloss pages, is hinged down the center to allow the book to lay flat when opened, and comes with limitless customizations, including a photo cover:

The following images are examples of full page spreads for a Graduate Album

The 10x10 Graduate Album includes not only a custom photo cover, but also includes 12 thick, gorgeous pages (24 sides) and prices start at $195.00!

Each additional page (2 sides) is only $6.00/ea.

Additional sizes available: 5x5 and 8x8

The Reception Album

The year I was married, "signature mats" were all the rage.
Basically, you'd enlarge one of your engagement portraits and cut a mat that was 6" larger than the picture, on every side. Then the wedding/reception guests would sign the mat and you'd have that keepsake to hang in your home.
Until your 2 year old takes a red crayon to it!

In the last several years, there has been a creative thunderstorm of wedding paraphernalia. Guest books are no exception, which is why I'm so excited about the Reception Album.

What better way to showcase your engagement portraits then in a gorgeous 10x10 album that looks simply fabulous on your coffee table as an album AND can double as a wedding guest book?

Just like the Essential 10x10 Wedding Album, the Reception Album features gorgeous, thick semi-gloss or pearl finished pages. Each page is custom designed to showcase your favorite portraits from your engagement session.

Plus, it lays flat when opened because it is hinged down the center, which makes the album
more durable as it is handled by your wedding guests.

Each Reception Album is 100% customizable! From colors to layout to patterns to text, each album is 100% unique!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are 3 versions of the Reception Album.

#1 The Portrait Album features your favorite portraits from your engagement session and would make an attractive addition to any welcome table for your guests to look through.

#2 The Guest Book Album features your favorite engagement session portraits along with plenty of space on each page for the signatures and well wishes from your guests.
Here is an example of what a full page spread might look like in a Guest Album:

#3 The Advice Album features favorite portraits from your engagement session with plenty of room on each page for your wedding guests to offer their best marriage advice. In the examples below, a question or statement was printed on each spread and the guests could offer their best advice in relation to the subject on the page.

The Reception album features 10 thick and gorgeous, hinged pages (that's 20 sides!) with a leather cover in your choice of black, dark brown or red.
The price: $150.00

To swap out the leather cover for a custom-designed photo cover is an additional $20.00
Each additional page (2 sides) is only $6.00

Sweeten the Deal:
SAVE when you order one 10x10 Reception Album AND one Essential 10x10 Wedding Album.

The Wedding Album

It's your big day.
You have hundreds of photographic images capturing every last detail, every emotional tear, every sweet kiss, and every cherished moment and memory.
Now what?
There are countless options in terms of available albums. There are high quality, high end albums that will break the bank. There are mass-manufactured, snapshot quality albums that look just like all your friends' photo books. Finding an album to offer my wedding couples afforded me an exhaustive, but satisfying search and then Eureka!! I found something rather spectacular that will appeal to every budget and offer that zing of uniqueness and craftsmanship that is unsurpassed!

I call it The Essential 10x10 Album.

The album can also be a 6x6, 8x8, or 12x12.
There are several fresh features about these albums that you'd be hard pressed to find elsewhere, unless you're willing to sell your firstborn child to afford it!

First of all, the photographic paper used in these albums is THICK! 110# weight!
When my husband was looking through the albums he kept commenting that the pages seem stuck together because there was no way that each page could be so thick! Not only is the quality of the paper amazing, but the pages can be printed on a semi-gloss surface or sprayed with a pearl finish! Wowza!

Second, the cover of this album is 100% customizable!!
For my example albums, I chose leather covers, in red and dark brown. Also available are custom photo covers in lustre or metallic (photographic covers are laminated and adhered to Masonite). Further enhance the cover of your album with a custom-designed dust jacket or foil printing.

Next, these albums lay completely flat when opened.
They're hinged down the center which allow you to see the entire page without the magazine-like creases of many albums and photo books.
(see images below)

Finally, these albums are customizable in design, color, and layout;
3 elements which were on my "must have" list as I searched for the perfect album.
This allows me to use your wedding colors, textures, patterns, and the creative freedom
to design an album which is uniquely YOU. Pages can include text along with images.
Here are a few samples of full-page spreads for a wedding album.

If you're anything like me, one of the first things that pops in my head when presented with anything is "how much does it cost?" Getting the best *bang* for my buck is of the utmost importance which is why I chose this album to offer to my clients.

The Essential 10x10 Album features 15 thick and gorgeous pages (30 amazing sides) and a leather cover in your choice of black, dark brown, or red.
A la carte prices start at $199.00

Customizable photo cover or dust jacket is only $20.00
Each additional page (2 sides) is only $6.00

Other album sizes vary in price.

The Essential Album is also included in some wedding packages!

Brock

Next week is album week on my blog!
Everyday next week, I'm going to feature fresh and creative uses for my latest product: The Album! I'm thrilled to be able to share with you my complete adoration for these remarkable books and demonstrate why the new albums are a "must have" for engagements weddings, families, seniors, and new babies; basically anyone and everyone! Stay tuned!

In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few personal pictures of my little boy, Brock. Growing up as a photographer's child means that you get momarazzied from the very moment you leave the womb. Brock is used to the camera and now, at four, is okay with a few pictures every now and again. These shots are from his "I'm four years old now" session! We entertain high hopes that someday he'll play linebacker for the Boise State Broncos. Check out these not-so-subtle tributes to our favorite team, and infinitely more important, our favorite boy!

Children will always let you know when they've had enough...

Have a great weekend!

The "S" Family

God bless the US military and their families! It was a real privilege photographing the "S" family, a military family, recently relocated to Idaho. All "mom" wanted was a family picture where everyone is looking at the camera; a challenging feat when you're dealing with young children in a studio space. Nevertheless, I think we achieved that objective and captured some great shots of the family! My favorites were not necessarily the pictures where everyone is looking toward the camera, however, but those shots of the family interacting with one another, reading a book, tickling, giving kisses. I love those non-posed, natural smiles. Thank you S family!!
