Babies: "W" turns one!
It seems like only yesterday when I was taking little man W's newborn portraits and here he is today,
celebrating his very first birthday! There are a few things you should know about "W." First of all, he has the greatest dimples EVER! Second, he has a really good arm when it comes to hurling blocks across the room--the kid may have a bright future in baseball. And finally, this boy loves his momma. As a mom of a little boy, I can attest to the fact that boys just naturally love their moms and W is no exception. And moms eat that kind of stuff up.
Mr. Blue Eyes...
Mr. Look-At-My-Awesome-Dimples...
Mr. I-Rock-Black-and-White...
And finally, no first birthday session would be complete without a cake...
Happy #1 Little Man W!!!

Newborns: Meet Baby A
In 2008, I had the pleasure of photographing Karl and Jennifer's beautiful Independence Day wedding. Imagine my excitement when Jennifer called me last month and announced that she and Karl were expecting their first child, a daughter! Last week, I was privileged to meet and photograph the newest member of Karl and Jennifer's family, angelic Baby A. She is preciousness, defined.
I was thrilled when I was going through the images from Baby A's session and came across this...
(It's my favorite!)
Jennifer looked fantastic! You would never guess that she had a baby the week before.
You can just tell with some dads that they're naturals when it comes to their newborns.
Karl is a natural. And he didn't even mind getting pooped on.
When my little boy was a baby, I took hundreds of pictures of him and sadly acknowledged that he would never be as little as he was that day. Babies grow so fast and it's a real treasure to be able
to look back on their newborn portraits and marvel at how small and fragile your baby was in the beginning.
Baby A was a total sweetheart for our session.
Welcome to parenthood, Karl and Jennifer!

Seniors: Jake & Morgan
With only weeks until graduation, really good friends, Jake and Morgan are cutting it close for senior pictures, but I have to admit, there is some advantage to spring seniors and that is a fresh change in the weather and these two will look as fresh at graduation as they do in their senior portraits! How many seniors can say that?
I have a tendency to look towards Boise when approaching senior picture season. When Jake's mom challenged me to find something "countryish," I knew that searching closer to my small town home would yield better results than heading to the city. What I found was a TREASURE! A footbridge. A raging creek. Fields. Train tracks. Split rail fences. And even a weather-beaten old house.
Jake....
Morgan...
And finally, one of Jake and Morgan together...
Thanks Jake and Morgan! It was fantastic working with both of you!

Newborn: Meet Baby K
I have two words to describe Baby K (besides absolutely darling): Milk Drunk.
This little one slept for most of our session, even though we were jostling and bending her in all sorts of pretzel-like poses. She is such a sweetheart! Thanks Baby K for such a fun session!

Newborn: Meet Baby B
Aw, baby "B" is so precious that I can hardly stand it and I'm sure his parents would agree because they totally adore this little man. It was my privilege to photograph 1 month old Baby "B" this last weekend.
And, basically, he's sweet and adorable and made me miss those glory days when my 5 year old was that small and cuddly.
One of my faves...
Baby smiles....this one is for his momma:
I love coming across a *gem* when I'm editing, post-session.
The one position Baby B seemed most comfortable was snuggling with mom and his expression says it all.
*This one is a GEM!*

Portraits: Miss "L"
Darling Miss "L" just turned one and I've been waiting to take her pictures for months now. Today, was the day when we set up the lights, pulled out the tutu, and got to work, which is actually more like play when I've got a very mobile 1-year old my camera's view finder. The session was made much sweeter by the fact that Miss "L" is my niece! Am I a lucky auntie or what???
Color or Black and White? I can't decide...

The "K" Family *Sneak Peek*

Portraits: The "R" Family *Sneak Peek*
I happen to know the "R" family very well and figured that this shoot would be a real breeze from start to finish. Teaches me to make silly assumptions. Turns out, photographing my brother's beautiful family was easily one of the most challening sessions of my career--probably because I am "Aunt Coco" and the children were no where near intimidated obedience. I have so many hysterical outtakes from this session, but gems like the picture posted below really create success from challenge.
Thanks for hanging in there from start to finish A&S. I know it wasn't easy, but look at this and tell me it wasn't worth it! I dare you!
Portraits: The "S" Family *Sneak Peek*
This family chose the perfect location for an unseasonably warm and gorgeous November afternoon.
The paths that run along the Boise River at Bown Crossing are a nature perserve and the untamed landscape really lends itself well to natural lifestyle photogray. Not to mention, the "S" family frequents this location and it has a special meaning for them. What did I say? Perfect!

Family Portraits: The "B" Family *sneak peek*
It was the quintessential Autumn day. A light breeze, the sun meandering in and out of an overcast sky, a perfect jeans and sweater temperature. And, of course, a gorgeous family! This is the kind of day that makes photographers giddy.
I seriously *heart* this baby boy.
He has the most kissable cheeks!!!!
Senior Portraits: Matt's *sneak peek*
I've known Matt since he was a baby and it boggles my mind to imagine that this kid is graduating high school already! Kudos to Matt and his parents for braving those FRIGID winds this last week for our shoot. In spite of the blistering cold, I think we still managed to have a great time!

Bridals: Anna's *Sneak Peek*
One of the advantages of doing bridal portraits after the wedding is that you don't have to worry about keeping your gorgeous white dress clean. Many photographers refer to this particular session as "Trash the Dress." To truly trash a wedding dress, however, it almost always involves some form of water and a lot of courage on the bride's part. After all, you spend a fortune on your dress and to just plunge into a pool while wearing it takes a cavalier attitude. So when Anna and I began discussing her bridal session, she was hesitant about mixing her gorgeous dress with water or anything that would ultimately render the dress useless thereafter. And who am I to argue with logic like that when I doubt I could summon the necessary lack of judgement to carelessly go swimming in my cumbersome, but expensive wedding gown??? So we decided on a mild 'Trash the Dress' which did not involve water. But it did involve standing on top of tables, lingering in a smelly alley, lounging on a sidewalk in a fresh sprinkling of leaves, hoisting oneself into an antique carriage and dancing in the middle of a busy street. Thanks for being such a great sport, Anna.

Something new and blue (and orange too)!

As the mom of a boy, I've never had a problem finding great "Bronco" stuff to outfit my future linebacker. If I had a girl, though, I'd be used to all the cute clothes and accessories and finding that kind of variety in Bronco gear would be near impossible. Until now.
The deal gets even sweeter...
Book early and receive this very chic and darling blue, knit beanie FREE:
At only $99, this limited time offer is a ridiculous steal!
Original Price $199.00
And, if you're not lucky enough to be a Boise State fan, Libby Loo will take special requests for your favorite college football team's colors.
Go Broncos!

Weddings: Details from Saturday
On Saturday, I had the great opportunity to photograph R & J's beautiful and intimate wedding in Boise. Here are a few details from the event!
One of my favorite wedding day details is the ring shot. Or in my case, ring shots, because I love flexing my creative muscles and figuring out a fresh approach to photographing the bling!

R&J chose purple as one of their wedding colors. Ordinarily, I'm indifferent to purple, but lately, my 4-year old has decided that purple is his new favorite color (something to do with Mace Windu's lightsaber for the Star Wars crowd) and, as a result, I'm much more sensitive to the color which is why I LOVED all the purple from the wedding. It really made a stunning impact from the boutonnieres to the bouquet to the decorations. Excellent color choice R&J!

Oooh-ah! Is this not an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G bouquet???? I've photographed many bouquets and this is my favorite so far. It's BEEEEEEEEEAUTIFUL! Again with those stellar shades of purple. Love it!

The cake was 4-tiers of red velvet and chocolate and very elegantly decorated. The splashes of purples and lavenders, as well as the added bling, really made this cake a show stopper.

Thank you R&J for inviting me to play a part in your amazing wedding!
