The See Family *sneak peek*

About a month ago, we travelled to Silver City, a ghost town, with my brother-in-law and his family, for some unique family portraits. As a photographer, I am always on the lookout for incredible spaces and this trumps every location I've ever shot at (with the exception of the beach). Silver City has a plethora of weathered buildings and ruins where building once stood. There is no shortage of cool doors, rocks, antiquated shop fronts and hundreds of other nooks and crannies that make Silver City a photographer's paradise. As an added bonus, Silver City already had snow!
Enjoy your pics M & B!

The "R" Kids: a Sneak Peek

I met up with the "R" family on a blustery, November afternoon at Celebration Park, just south of Melba. In spite of the wind chill, I must say, I had a ton of fun photographing the R kids. They are so full of personality and energy and imagination; the images reflect how completely fantastic these kids are, not to mention completely adorable! Enjoy your sneak peek!

Senior 2013: Mikyla's *sneak peek*

I've known Mikyla since she was young; a cute little girl who has grown into a gorgeous young woman. She and I literally dodged an inconvenient autumn rain storm to capture Mikyla's senior pictures last Saturday. Fortunately, we caught a few breaks in the storm to venture out and about and soak up all the autumn colors, and a few puddles along the way.
Mikyla has big plans for her future and I look forward to watching her conquer the world!

Mikyla has the most beautiful blue eyes! They're almost turquoise.

Senior: Mackenzie *sneak peek*

It was the perfect autumn afternoon. Perfectly warm. Perfectly sunny. Perfect for a senior photo session.   Enter gorgeous Mackenzie, a high school senior; class of 2013. In the space of about 4 blocks in downtown Boise, we explored a water wheel, a  grungy alley, no less than 4 amazing, green doors, two parks, two staircases and even a bagel shop. It was so much fun! There is nothing like finding cool spots to photograph cool people...downtown.

Newborns: Meet Baby H

Last weekend, I had the pleasure to photograph Karl & Jennifer's latest addition to their family: baby H.   He is absolutely perfect. And he was  perfectly awake and hungry for most our session!
Luckily, he would occasionally doze off and we were able to capture some gems.
Like this one...

I have to give full credit for Karl. Of all the dads I've ever photographed, Karl may just be the most pooped on dad of all time. And he was a really good sport about it. I can tell that he adores his son.

Jennifer didn't get pooped on at all and there is no question that Baby H loves his momma.
Isn't this a beautiful moment?!

When Jennifer expressed an interest in a photograph of their two children, I was so excited. Sibling pictures are the best! However, baby H's big sister is only 17 months older than he is and it's admittedly difficult capturing a toddler and a newborn. BUT, I have to say, big sister did an AMAZING job. She was so well behaved and cooperative, not to mention adorable. I'm not surprised, though. She was one of the easiest newborns I've ever photographed. When I saw this image, I gasped. This is an image to print on a big canvas and hang over the living room couch!

Thank you Karl and Jennifer for allowing me to photograph your gorgeous family.
Baby H and Miss A are incredible. But you already know that!

Wedding: Rob & Kellie *sneak peek*

This past weekend I had the great privilege to photograph Rob and Kellie's gorgeous wedding at the Honalee Farm and Event Center in Eagle, ID. The bride and groom were stunning. The decor was Pinterest chic, simple and beautiful. Rob and Kellie were surrounded by their closest friends and families as they said their "I Do's" and then they celebrated with cake and dancing. The day was absolutely perfect. Congratulations Rob & Kellie and thank you for inviting me to play a role in your most important day! It was an honor.

Photographer favorite...

I wanted to try a different kind of "ring shot" for Rob and Kellie and went for the intertwining arms and hands to show off their wedding bling.

Ring and bouquet shot:

Isn't burlap the best? I love, love, love this LOVE banner!

They're stunning, right? See, I told you so.

The wedding party was great, everyone was so much fun!

The "P" Family *sneak peek*

One of the sad aspects of wedding photography is that sometimes you photograph a couple's wedding and then they move on and the photographer is left wondering what became of them. Not so with the P family!  I had the great pleasure of meeting up with them again at a wedding this past May and learned that they're not only incredibly happy, but that they also have a son. He's absolutely cherubic! It was an honor when Michelle asked me to take her family's portraits this summer.
We met up last Friday in the heat of the evening, at a local park, a wide open space for their 2-year old to run and play. If you've ever parented a 2-year old little boy, then you can appreciate the energy and curiosity that kept us all chasing this adorable boy. I remember those days all too well, and the fact that I never had formal portraits of my son when he was 2 because he wouldn't sit still for anything! And if you've ever parented a 2-year old little boy, you know just how endearing a little boy's energy can be; I wouldn't trade the days of chasing my toddler son for anything. Thanks Tony & Michelle! Hope you cherish the memories of chasing around your darling little boy because they grow up way too fast!

Michelle found this wagon at a thrift store! This is an AWESOME find!
I think I may start shopping for photo props at thrift stores.

Complete love and adoration...

Look at that darling face and those blond curls! A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E!
