Photographing girls is a completely different from photographing boys and since I've got a little boy and am surrounded by mostly nephews, I jump at the chance to photograph a girl when I am offered the opportunity. Contrasting the rough and tumble, catch-me-if-you-can photo mentality of my little boy, this young lady was all girl and on her best behavior in her favorite dress (its a gorgeous chocolate brown--you can tell she'll have stellar fashion sense when she's grown!). Her mom wanted some formal shots to capture lost last, fleeting "baby" looks before her little lady loses them forever. I hope I captured them.
I call this textured antique. Its a process I'm working on and felt worked really well for this shot. The process gives an image a deeper, more intetesting, almost old world feeling; timeless. This young lady's serious, verging on sad, expression really adds to the mood of the image. I love it!
